WWE Confirms Stipulation For King And Queen Of The Ring Tournament Winners

WWE has officially revealed the stakes for this year’s King and Queen of the Ring tournaments, confirming that the winners will earn championship opportunities at SummerSlam.
The announcement comes just days before the tournament was announced, adding even more intrigue to an already crowded road to WWE’s biggest event of the summer.
With Superstars from both Raw and SmackDown already declaring their intentions, the race to wear the crown now carries far more than bragging rights.
However, fans will have to wait until later next month to learn who punches their ticket to a world title match.
King and Queen Of The Ring winners earn WWE SummerSlam title shots
WWE confirmed that the winners of the 2026 King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will receive World Championship matches for their respective brands at SummerSlam.
Tournament action is set to begin on the June 1 episode of Monday Night Raw, while the finals will take place at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on June 27.
The reward is significant. The eventual King and Queen will move directly into world title matches at SummerSlam on Aug. 2 and 3, placing them firmly in the main event conversation.
Several notable names have already declared for the tournaments. LA Knight announced his entry on Raw, openly stating that winning the crown is his path toward Roman Reigns and the World Heavyweight Championship.
On SmackDown, Trick Williams also entered the field, while Jacy Jayne declared for the Queen of the Ring tournament.
The stipulation continues a tradition that WWE revived in 2024. Since then, the tournaments have become a launching pad for major championship opportunities rather than simply a ceremonial crown.
Gunther and Nia Jax won the tournaments in 2024 and went on to capture world titles at SummerSlam. In 2025, Cody Rhodes and Jade Cargill earned championship opportunities by winning their respective crowns.
Meanwhile, the current world title picture remains active heading into Clash in Italy on May 31. Roman Reigns is scheduled to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu in Tribal Combat, while Cody Rhodes will put the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Gunther.
