Tony Khan says a recent AEW rumor was the stupidest thing he’s ever heard.

During his recent appearance on Marking Out with MVP and Dwayne Swayze, AEW President Tony Khan addressed the rumors that MVP had backstage heat with “Speedball” Mike Bailey. He dismissed the rumor as the stupidest thing he’s ever heard, emphasizing that everyone appreciates Bailey when it comes to his conduct in the locker room.

“There was that weird thing. What was that thing? That was that BS rumor that you had some personal problem with Speedball, the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” Tony Khan said.

“I have no idea who made that up. Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard,” Tony Khan said. “I’ve never seen anybody have a problem with Speedball. In a wrestling ring, things happen, right? It’s a competitive sport, so people are fighting. I get that. But as far as conducting yourself in a locker room, conducting yourself as an athlete, everybody likes Speedball.” [H/T WrestlingNews.co]

Tony Khan says the positives of wrestling media far outweigh the negatives

Speaking in the same interview, Tony Khan opened up about the pros and cons of wrestling media, saying that while there can be occasional misinformation, the positives outweigh the negatives.

“I think overall there is more help than hurt,” Tony Khan began. “I think there can be, at times, misinformation or even disinformation where people put incorrect things out into the world in wrestling for their own benefit. I find that sometimes there’s a lot of truth in these stories, and sometimes there’s not. When you know things firsthand, it can definitely be interesting.

“I do think there is a net benefit and a lot of good that comes from it. There’s so much wrestling in the world, and for me, this is where I learned a lot about international wrestling. We’re talking about Japanese wrestling—I first read about and learned about a lot of what was happening in Japan and in Mexico. I’m a big fan of lucha libre, and I learned a lot about it from wrestling newsletters,” Tony Khan continued.

“So yeah, I absolutely think there are benefits. You can read about wrestlers, then go out and watch them, and they can be very influential on you. There are definitely positives and negatives, but I think the positives far outweigh the negatives when it comes to wrestling newsletters and wrestling media.” [H/T NoDQ]
