Cody Rhodes Is Open to a WWE Heel Turn Under One Condition
Cody Rhodes addresses a potential heel turn on WWE television, saying it will happen when it’s actually the plan.
During a recent episode of What Do You Wanna Talk About?, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes said he is open to a potential heel turn, but it ultimately depends on the plan in place.
“There’s this whole discussion on, like, when is he gonna turn heel. I’m open to it, gosh, but when that’s the plan, that’s the plan,” Rhodes said.
The American Nightmare added that he prefers staying true to himself and making decisions he feels are right, even if they sometimes draw negative reactions from the crowd.
“Right now I get to be me, and me makes the decisions I think are the appropriate decisions. Appropriate sometimes gets you booed. But I’d rather be that in the end.” [H/T WrestlingNewsCo]
Cody Rhodes is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Gunther at Clash in Italy later this weekend. The American Nightmare was attacked by the Ring General during a segment that also involved Sami Zayn last week on SmackDown.
Following his win over Zayn, Rhodes was attacked by Gunther with a powerbomb before being caught in a Gojira Clutch chokehold. Zayn entered the ring but ultimately decided against helping the Undisputed Champion against Gunther.
