Trick Williams Opens Up About His Healthy Rivalry With WWE Coworker
Trick Williams recently spoke about his friendship with Oba Femi, even though the two had a heated rivalry in WWE NXT.
Both stars are former NXT Champions and competed in several big matches against each other in 2025. Femi notably ended Williams’ second NXT Championship reign in a Triple Threat match earlier that year.
Their rivalry later reached its peak at NXT Stand & Deliver, where Femi successfully defended the title against Williams and Je’Von Evans. Despite their intense rivalry on screen, Williams revealed that he and Femi are actually close friends behind the scenes.
Trick Williams Talks About His Friendship With Oba Femi
During an appearance on The Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show, Williams spoke about his relationship with Femi. He was asked about a backstage photo of the two taken around the time of the WWE Royal Rumble. Williams explained that their bond goes beyond their in-ring rivalry.
He shared that he wants both of them to succeed on the main roster. “Yeah, man. Oba is actually a really good friend of mine, man. Like, man, we compete. It’s a healthy, you know, competition that we have, but you know, he came from NXT at the same time as me, and, you know, he’s making a name for himself on the main roster just like I am. You know what I mean? He’s the ruler.”
In the past few months, both Trick Williams and Oba Femi have made a huge impression on the main roster. Williams has constantly been in the main event scene on SmackDown. Meanwhile, Femi has crossed paths with several stars on RAW and SmackDown.
