Konosuke Takeshita Reveals Why He Doesn’t Like Kazuchika Okada

Konosuke Takeshita addresses his feud with Kazuchika Okada ahead of AEW Double or Nothing.
All Elite Wrestling presents Double or Nothing this Sunday. One of the most anticipated matches on the main show will see Takeshita run it back with Okada. The two previously collided in singles action at Worlds End.
Takeshita and Okada later joined forces against The Young Bucks at AEW Dynasty. During the closing stretch, Takeshita turned his back on Okada by allowing the Bucks to plant The Rainmaker with the Meltzer Driver, followed by the double knee strike to pick up the win.
Ahead of their rematch, Konosuke Takeshita addressed his animosity toward Kazuchika Okada in a new interview with Bleacher Report. According to The Alpha, his dislike for The Rainmaker boils down to one simple reason.
“What I dislike most about Okada is that he has no respect for me,” Takeshita said. “He always talks down to me and treats me like I’m beneath him. Maybe he’s afraid that I’m the one who will take the spot as the top Japanese wrestler from him.”
While Don Callis remains confident that his family will remain a cohesive unit after the May 24 PPV event, there are questions about whether the two rivals can coexist, and Takeshita shares those doubts.
“If Okada gets kicked out of The Don Callis Family and everyone remembers that I was the first member of The Don Callis Family, there will be no problem,” he said. “It’s that simple.”
WrestleZone will provide live coverage of AEW Double or Nothing this Sunday.
