A former WWE Superstar explains how professional wrestling helped him overcome grief in his childhood.

Trevor Lee, known for his work as Cameron Grimes in WWE, recently sat down for an interview with Scott Fishman for SEScoops. During the conversation, he opened up about the trauma he faced after losing his brother and sister as a kid. He revealed that it resulted in a lot of rage, and pro wrestling helped him “contain that monster.

“When I was very young I had a brother and sister who passed away. That was my first trauma in life,” he said. “I didn’t know how to handle it as a kid. It led to rage. It led to me having this rage where I would get into fights at school and didn’t know how to control that.

“Professional wrestling helped me contain that monster, that little demon I was. From that point on, it always came back to that. Wrestling would help with that. Wrestling would help get me better,” the former WWE star said.

Trevor Lee says it sucked to lose his job in WWE

Speaking further, Trevor Lee noted that it sucked to lose his dream job in WWE in April 2024. However, he’s hopeful that he can continue working on a great level even after his exit from the promotion. He’s also excited for his appearance on the first episode of MLW Fusion on Saturday, May 30.

“It did suck to lose my dream job. The best part of professional wrestling is there is not just one company to wrestle for now. You can continue to do this and do this on a great level without being at WWE.

“It was very interesting to fight that battle, that sadness, but I’m glad to be where I’m at today. To be performing for MLW and be on the first episode of the three-year wait for MLW and glad to be in a match people will be pretty excited to see,” the former WWE star said.

In the same interview, Trevor Lee credited a current WWE Superstar for inspiring him to be a great girl dad.
