CM Punk Reacts To Claim Roman Reigns Is ‘The Easy Option’ At WrestleMania
CM Punk is set to headline WrestleMania for the second year in a row, and responded to claims by Drew McIntyre that Roman Reigns’ took the easy option.
Speaking to talkSPORT USA, Punk was asked about McIntyre’s comments that Reigns chose the “easy option” in Punk at WrestleMania 42. Punk said McIntyre can think whatever he wants, but he’s only thinking about the present now.
“I just appreciated that he picked me so I don’t have to pay any attention to the Elimination Chamber,” Punk said. “I don’t gotta worry about who’s in that, or who’s winning that. It’s champ problems. Heading into Mania being the champion is a lot of responsibility, it’s great, but I feel like it also takes the target off my back. I don’t have to be in the [Royle] Rumble, I don’t have to go through hell in the [Elimination] Chamber, so I’m doing my best to rest and recover a little nagging things I got going on.”
Punk said he believes he’ll see Roman at WrestleMania, but first must focus on Finn Bálor. The stars are set to clash at Elimination Chamber on February 28, 2028. That show will be held at Punk’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois, inside the United Center.
