Former WWE Star Set For Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Debut
A former WWE Superstar is set to make his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut next year.
Speaking at the Knucklemania VI introductory press conference, BKFC President David Feldman announced that former WWE Tag Team Champion Gzim Selmani (Rezar of the AOP) will make his debut at the event in February 2026.
“I also want to announce the signing of former WWE tag team champion Gzim Selmani. He will make his heavyweight debut. He’s also a decorated Bellator fighter and a kickboxer. He is from Albania. He will make his debut here at Knucklemania.”
Rezar and his tag team partner, Akam, are former RAW and NXT Tag Team Champions. They signed with WWE in 2015 and were part of the company until they were released as part of the pandemic budget cuts in 2020. They returned in 2023 but were released once again in February 2025.
Rezar Revealed Why He And Akam Almost Quit WWE On Their First Night On The Main Roster
During a recent interview with Metro UK, Rezar revealed that he and Akam almost quit WWE on their first night on RAW after they were told their on-screen manager, Paul Ellering, would not work with them on the main roster.
“That was the day that we were deciding to stop with WWE,’ Rezar said. “We were just called up. And the first day at the main roster, they were telling us, ‘You have to leave Paul Ellering.’ And me and my tag team partner, Akam, Sonny, he said, ‘Yo, let’s just give our resignation letter and just leave.’ But Paul told us, ‘Try it out. I’ve helped you guys to get there, so much hard work, we can always get the [band] back together later.’‘
