AEW Contract Expiring Later Than Expected — Report

An AEW contract that was thought to be up relatively soon is actually expiring way later than initially expected.
Last month, following the early exit of TayJay in the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Tournament, it was reported that Anna Jay‘s contract with the company was set to expire soon.
Although a new report suggests that Anna Jay’s contract expires much later than initially thought.
In a new update from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), Anna Jay’s contract with AEW isn’t set to expire until Spring of 2026. It was initially thought that her deal would be up before 2026, but that was incorrect.
Her contract situation with the company wasn’t widely known backstage until Jay wasn’t added to the Women’s Blood and Guts match. A match that Jay was hopeful of being involved in. Following Blood and Guts, TayJay dropped their first round tournament match to Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir on the November 19 episode of Collision.
Jay hasn’t competed in AEW since. However, Tay Melo did have one additional match on the Thanksgiving episode of Collision to Thekla. Sapp is uncertain if their current absence on TV is connected to Jay’s current contract situation.
Is Anna Jay looking to depart AEW?
As far as Anna Jay’s future plans, Sapp reports that she’s open to exploring her options. Noting that she reportedly has connections in both WWE and NXT.
Whether Jay would be willing to leave her boyfriend, Jack Perry, behind for a WWE run remains to be seen.
