Daria Berenato (Sonya Deville) Set To Star In ‘Gay Zombies’ Themed Comedy-Horror Film
Daria Berenato is ready for her next role.
Deadline is reporting that Berenato, formerly WWE Superstar Sonya Deville, has landed a role in the new film Zombois. The film is directed by Garrett Abdo, who described the project as having a “gay zombies” theme, which contrasted his last film, Exit Interviews.
“My last film, Exit Interviews, was deeply dramatic emotional therapy so I wanted to follow it up with something totally on the opposite end of the spectrum – something fun and outrageous, so gay zombies felt like it fit the mold,” explained Abdo.
Zombois tells a story about “a group of college seniors on break in the North Georgia Mountains who discover a guarded secret and a contagion that turns their getaway into a brutal battle for survival,” according to the synopsis.
Tuc Watkins, Thomas Dekker, Brenna D’Amico, Adam Huss and Aaron Goldenberg will also star in the movie along with Berenato. The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion is represented by Luber Roklin Entertainment and AGMB.
“Sexy, scary, and laugh-out-loud funny, Zombois is going to be one hell of a ride. I can’t wait to be a part of it,” Watkins said.
Daria Berenato left WWE in 2025. It was reported in February that the promotion would not be renewing her contract. This summer, Berenato spoke with Chris Van Vliet and said that she intended to retire from pro wrestling, but did not rule out a future return.
