Damian Priest weighs in on Pat McAfee’s involvement in a major WWE storyline.

During a sit-down interview with Gabby LaSpisa, WWE Superstar Damian Priest was asked to share his thoughts on McAfee’s surprise addition to the WrestleMania feud between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.

The Archer of Infamy admitted he’s not a fan of what’s happening in the Undisputed WWE Championship picture.

“It sucks,” Priest said. “Not a fan. You know, I know Pat, I get along with him, but for me, that’s not my taste.”

Damian Priest reveals WWE locker room reaction to Pat McAfee drama

Damian Priest believes Pat McAfee’s inclusion doesn’t benefit the storyline heading into WWE WrestleMania 42 and that the color commentator “didn’t need it.” He also revealed the locker room’s reaction to the situation.

“So for me, and I’m sure a lot of people aren’t gonna be happy that I said that, but in the locker room specifically, a lot of us weren’t happy. And that’s real. I was asked by some of the younger talent what I thought, and I told them I thought it was bull.

“We’re a PG show, right? But he can come in, throw f-bombs, and say whatever he wants. For me, that’s one of those things where so many other talents could benefit from even one word, and it’s like, wow, now they’re up here. Instead, you take somebody who’s not even here all the time, who gets away with saying something like that, and who doesn’t even need it. Not gonna lie, it kinda pissed me off.”

Cody Rhodes and CM Punk previously called out Pat McAfee’s involvement

Damian Priest isn’t the only WWE Superstar to publicly criticize Pat McAfee’s involvement. Cody Rhodes and CM Punk previously fired shoot-style promos at the streamer.

Rhodes specifically mocked the reveal by referencing the nWo angle, saying, “And color me surprised, it was Pat McAfee. That’s like if Scott Hall and Kevin Nash talked about the third man in the nWo, and instead of Hulk Hogan, it was Disco Inferno.”

Meanwhile, Punk used the controversy to take shots at WWE ticket prices. The Straight Edge Superstar’s comments are reportedly being seen as a pivot, as WWE works to revise plans for one of its top feuds on the road to WrestleMania.

Fans will have to tune in to WrestleZone’s live coverage of SmackDown tonight to see where the storyline heads next.
