Torrie Wilson Believes This WWE Superstar Would’ve Perfectly Fit In During The Divas Era
Torrie Wilson believes this WWE Superstar would have fit in perfectly during the Divas era.
WWE Hall of Famer Torrie Wilson recently sat down with WrestleZone Senior Editor Matt Black. When asked which current talent would be a perfect fit for the Divas era, Wilson named Chelsea Green and mentioned that she’d love to work with her.
“Chelsea Green all the way,” Torrie Wilson said. “I love her. She is [amazing]. She would have been so much fun to work with. I would love that [to work with Chelsea Green]. I would love to. It’s funny, I just did an interview and he was like, ‘Do you have it in you to do another match or come back?’ And I’m like, ‘Nope. I don’t.’
“But then, in the same sentence, if the WWE called me tomorrow and said, ‘We have this awesome fun storyline. Would you be interested?’ I probably wouldn’t pass it down. So…”
Was the Divas Championship made for Torrie Wilson?
When asked about the longstanding rumor that the WWE Divas Championship was created with her in mind, Wilson said she’s heard that rumor as well, but no one in the company told her that.
“Yeah. I’ve heard that often. But I’ve never been told that from anyone at WWE,” Torrie Wilson said. “When I left wrestling, I was having back problems, and I was getting to a point where my back would lock up, and it would be like 45 minutes, I’d be crying. I couldn’t move. And so, I ended up having surgery.
“And it sucks because I felt like I was really starting to improve in the ring and understanding it better. Wrestling. And it was kind of like the rug being torn out from under me. But I don’t know if that’s true or not. I… That would have been awesome. But you know, like you said earlier, I try… A lot of people always ask me, ‘Aren’t you upset that you never won a championship?’ And, I try not to focus on that. At the end of the day, it’s really about the connection with the fans and being remembered. To me, it doesn’t matter how many championship belts I won or didn’t win.”
