Tony Khan speaks about the future of AEW Games and the lessons he learned while getting Fight Forever made.

All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan recently took part in a media call for Forbidden Door. When asked about a potential sequel to AEW Fight Forever and what lessons they learned from the development of the game, Khan gave an answer that didn’t necessarily bring a lot of hope for a console sequel to the AEW video game.

“Oh, these are great questions,” Tony Khan said. “So I love pro wrestling, and I’ll be the first to say that I’m not the biggest expert in the world on video gaming. And I like to play games, but I’m not the expert.

“And there are great, great experts in the world about it, and I tried to take insight and advice from people in AEW and people around the developers and absolutely, we learned a lot in the making of the game, and would take that in the future, I really believe, to make the next game much, much better and learn from the experiences of doing that.

“But I also think that we’re having a great year with our wrestling and our TV, our pay-per-views, and doing all kinds of great things that are our core competencies. And it’s a great thought, and it’s a very different question than the ones I’ve been getting asked about the pay-per-view, but it’s a good question.

Tony Khan isn’t sure what the future holds for AEW Games

“I’m not sure what the future would hold. I do think eventually there will be further AEW forays into gaming, different kinds of games, mobile games, different concepts, different platforms. I can’t say for sure what they’ll all be, because, again, like I said, I’ll never claim to be the world’s biggest expert on video gaming. But I like it, and I know it’s a huge part of a lot of our fans’ lives.

“It’s really important to a lot of our fans, and I’m trying to learn from that feedback. You just gave very balanced feedback, and I appreciate it about Fight Forever, and as with all of that, I’ll take it under consideration. I think it’s interesting points you made and something for us to consider.

“But certainly we have learned a lot from the making of that game, and I do expect further forays into AEW gaming. As for when and where the next console game would be, I don’t know for sure. But I think spot on that we can learn from that game and and if and when we’re ready to do another console game, it would be with the benefit of the experiences from releasing AEW Fight Forever, which I appreciate you asking about. Thank you very much.”
