Details On Bray Wyatt’s MyRise Story For WWE 2K22 Revealed
Before being removed from the game due to his WWE release, Bray Wyatt was scheduled to be a major focus of WWE 2K22‘s MyRise mode.
WWE 2K Associate Lead Narrative Designer Andrea Listenberger recently sat down with WrestleZone Senior Editor Matt Black. When asked for details of Bray Wyatt’s role in the MyRise mode for WWE 2K22, Listenberger revealed that Wyatt was going to be featured in two separate stories for the game, one for the men and one for the women.
“So, for [2K]22, there were originally two stories that were going to be about Bray Wyatt,” Andrew Listenberger revealed. “There was going to be one in the women’s division storyline and one in the men’s division storyline. And I came on board kind of midway through [2K]22. That’s when I was hired. They were somewhat outlined.
“The men’s division storyline was a little bit more outlined. I believe the women’s division, my memory is… There was the idea, there was at least the idea that there was a women’s division storyline. And I can’t quite remember what state it was in. I remember I wrote that… I wrote the women’s division storyline, and then one of our other writers wrote the men’s division storyline.
“So, I wrote the [2K]22 one, which was wild because, when we were working on [2K]25 one and I was pulling lines from the [2K]22 one. I was like, ‘Wait a second. Wait a second. I wrote this.’ And there were some lines where I was like, ‘Hey, I did okay.’ And there were other lines where I was like, ‘Huh,” I could tell that I wrote this three years ago when I was learning how to write for video games for the very first time.”

When asked about the rumors that Aleister Black and Dana Brooke were involved in Wyatt’s MyRise story, Listenberger would confirm Brooke, but didn’t recall Black’s involvement.
“Well, I don’t remember Aleister Black being in the men’s division storyline,” Andrea Listenberger said. “I will say that. Dana Brooke and this… I don’t think this is super new information. And I thought really well, I’ll say this, this I will spill. Dana Brooke was going to be on the women’s division storyline.
“But I wouldn’t call it like a huge feature or anything. I mean, obviously, she was also released. Well, she wasn’t released from the company at — but she was going to be in the Bray storyline. And when Bray was released, the Bray storyline went away; that didn’t go anywhere. So, that was part of it. But she was not the lynchpin on which the whole storyline revolved around or anything like that.”
