AEW Collision Results:
It’s that time of the week again, and we’re kicking off AEW Collision with a message from the AEW Women’s World Champion. “Timeless” Toni Storm comes down to the ring. After doing a couple of bits, Storm gets down on her knees to pray for Athena, who she hopes will be leaving London with Storm’s ass prints on her.
Before Storm can continue, though, Athena and Billie Starkz arrive and ambush her. They beat up Storm, and Athena gets on the mic. She calls Storm a fraud, and asks why, if AEW is where the best wrestlers are, Storm is at the top. Athena said that Storm’s days as champ are numbered, then mocked her with her own spotlight.
We’re not done, though! As Athena gloats, Mina Shirakawa’s music hits. The star walks out to confront Athena just as Storm drops Starkz with a slam. Athena tries to calm things down, but runs off. Storm and Shirakawa share a kiss before celebrating.
Tag Team Action To Start The Matches
JetSpeed vs. Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta
- In an absolutely chaotic finish, Moxley and Yuta survive and walk out with a win. The match featured some insane spots, including Marina Shafir being sent into the stairs and Yuta accidentally knocking out Moxley with a kick. However, in the end, Moxley distracted the ref as JetSpeed pinned Yuta for the would-be win. The distraction let Moxley and Yuta get the upper hand and walk out with a win.
Winner – Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta
Grade: A
This was an incredible start to the matches tonight. Had the buzz of a pay-per-view match and both teams were going all out. Some incredible spots here, too, including the hurricanrana-into-powerbomb near fall early on.
Ace Austin Makes His AEW Debut
- After being called out by Ricochet, Austin is here to make his debut. Unfortunately, it didn’t go well for Austin. He lost the match after the Gates of Agony got involved, and then Ricochet and the GOA dropped Austin with a trio move.
Winner – Ricochet
Grade: B+
This was a fun debut for Austin. He showed off a lot, just wish he didn’t have to essentially compete in a 3-vs-1 for his very first match, but it does give a fun star to feud against as he continues his AEW career.
Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong Struggle in Win
Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong vs. Blake Christian and Lee Johnson
- O’Reilly and Strong win here, but it wasn’t easy. There were some chemistry issues between the two long-time friends, and O’Reilly didn’t stick around to celebrate The Conglomeration.
Winner – Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong
Grade: C+
It’ll be interesting to see the O’Reilly and Strong stuff continue, but this match was mostly a lot of nothing.
Backstage, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler attacked Bandido and stole his mask. Brody King came in for help, and battled FTR out and into the ring. King looked like he was getting the momentum when Stokely Hathaway used some powder to distract King, and FTR hit the Shatter Machine on him. FTR and Stoke then bragged some more with Bandido’s mask.
$100,000 4-Way Action
- $100,000 4-Way Collision (Winner gets $100,000): Julia Hart vs. Kris Statlander vs. Penelope Ford vs. Anna Jay
