Major Update on WWE WrestleMania 43 Plans Amid Saudi Arabia Concerns — Report
WWE is continuing to move forward with plans to hold WrestleMania 43 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, despite ongoing concerns surrounding the situation in the Middle East.
WrestleMania 43 is scheduled to take place in Riyadh in April 2027. The event will mark the first time WWE’s biggest annual show has been held outside the United States or Canada.
WWE President Nick Khan recently confirmed that the company is already working on the creative plans for WrestleMania 43. Khan said the creative direction is already in place, although injuries and other circumstances could force changes.
According to PWInsider, representatives from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia visited WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, earlier this month. The representatives reportedly met with WWE officials to discuss WrestleMania 43 and the logistics surrounding the historic event.
WWE Reportedly Moving Full Steam Ahead With WrestleMania 43 In Saudi Arabia
The outlet noted that WWE is continuing to work on WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, they are also preparing contingency measures should circumstances require a change.
According to the report, WWE will have a contingency plan in place for the Saudi Arabian event. This is the same as it does for its other shows in the country. The company is also expected to work closely with private security experts it contracts in the region while planning for WrestleMania 43.
There have been reports within the wrestling industry that WWE may already have domestic locations prepared. This is in case WrestleMania 43 needs to be moved out of Saudi Arabia. However, WWE sources told PWInsider that it is too early for the company to have selected alternative domestic locations for WrestleMania.
The sources did acknowledge that WWE has discussed contingency plans for Crown Jewel, which is currently scheduled for Riyadh on November 7. The discussions come as uncertainty continues across the MENA region.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select recently reported that there was growing concern backstage and at WWE Headquarters over Crown Jewel, particularly following a U.S. State Department travel advisory for Saudi Arabia. The event remains scheduled for November 7 in Riyadh.
