‘It’s Emotional for Me’: WWE’s Triple H Opens up About the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels’ New Roles
Triple H is proud to see his close contemporaries, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker, in their post-in-ring roles.
In a recently released behind-the-scenes vlog from WWE, Triple H reflected on the WWE legends’ continued impact on the wrestling business.
Triple H Says Seeing His Friends Succeed Is ‘Emotional’
Triple H recently traveled around North America for WWE, AAA, and Zuffa Boxing events. Backstage at AAA TripleMania 34, Triple H highlighted Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker’s involvement in NXT and AAA.
WWE’s Chief Content Officer felt emotional watching his friends contribute to the current business.
He said, “Seeing the guys that are my generation, my contemporaries, my friends, be able to step into these roles, be able to continue, as our bodies won’t allow us to do it anymore, but continue to be able to take all the knowledge that they have in their minds and be able to give it back to this next generation,” Triple H said. “To me, that’s what this business is all about.”
Triple H further added, “To be able to have Shawn running NXT and taking it to a whole other level and to have Undertaker come here and revitalize Lucha Libre in Mexico and take it to a level that it hasn’t seen maybe ever, it’s incredible.”
Shawn Michaels currently oversees WWE NXT, replacing Triple H after he moved to WWE’s main roster creative operations.
The WWE Hall of Famer took over NXT’s leadership role after Triple H suffered a serious health issue in September 2021. Since taking over, Michaels has elevated the brand to unprecedented heights.
Meanwhile, The Undertaker has served as the head of creative for AAA after WWE acquired the Mexican promotion.
Looking back at WrestleMania 28’s iconic ‘End of an Era’ moment, hardly anyone would have predicted that the trio would become the creative minds spearheading the operations of WWE and AAA.
Later in the vlog, Triple H was seen advising a certain WWE star against regularly using a dangerous spot.
