WWE’s Stance On Chelsea Green’s Title Status Amid Injury Revealed — Report

There’s a new update about WWE‘s stance on Chelsea Green’s championship status amid injury.
After becoming the Interim WWE Women’s Champion at SummerSlam, Chelsea Green faced a setback on the following episode of SmackDown. She suffered a broken orbital bone when she took Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid’s Rolling Encore finisher during their match. The injury led to speculation about Green’s future as champion.
Now, WrestleVotes Radio (via Fightful Select) has provided an update on the situation, saying WWE is not planning to strip her of the title.
“WWE remains optimistic about Chelsea Green’s injury status. @WrestleVotes Radio on @FightfulSelect has learned that she is not expected to be removed from television or stripped of the championship,” the report read.
Chelsea Green also hoped to make a quick recovery in her recent injury update.
Booker T urges Chelsea Green to wrestle through injury
Speaking on a recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T advised Chelsea Green to work through the pain. He said it wouldn’t be poetic justice if her title reign ended as soon as it began.
“Work through the pain, baby. You worked too hard to get here, and to have to give it up like that, it would not be poetic justice at all. Put the face mask on, go out there, and get the work done. Just part of the game. But I’m a huge, huge fan of Chelsea Green,” Booker T said.
“When she won the title, and the way she won it, it was beautiful. It was put together perfectly, and the fans gave her her flowers big time. She truly deserves to be in that spot,” the Hall of Famer said about Green.
