Jody Threat Parts Ways With TNA Wrestling
Jody Threat’s time with TNA Wrestling has reportedly come to an end after another notable departure from the promotion.
While the split is said to have happened on good terms, the decision comes as a surprise given developments earlier this year and leaves questions about what could be next for the former Knockouts Tag Team Champion.
According to PWInsider, Threat wrapped up her run during TNA’s television tapings in Philadelphia last week, bringing a three-year stint with the company to a close.
TNA Wrestling confirms the release of Jody Threat
According to PWInsider, Threat requested her release from TNA Wrestling, and the company approved it. The report described the separation as “amicable,” with no reason provided for the request.
TNA Wrestling announced the departure of Jody Threat and Mara Sade through a press release. It read, “TNA Wrestling today confirmed that Jody Threat and Mara Sadé have left the company. We wish them the best in her future endeavors.”
The timing stands out because TNA announced in January that Threat had signed a new contract with the promotion. Her final televised appearance came on the July 30 episode of TNA iMPACT, where she fell to Jada Stone in the quarterfinals of the Knockouts Television Championship tournament.
Threat joined TNA in 2023 after establishing herself on the Canadian independent wrestling scene. Her biggest success came as one-half of Spitfire alongside Dani Luna. The duo captured the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championships twice, winning the titles in March and September 2024 before eventually moving in separate directions in May 2025 after an unsuccessful bid to reclaim the gold.
Outside of TNA, Threat has continued competing on the independent circuit. Earlier this year, she defeated AEW’s Mercedes Moné to win the WPW Women’s Championship in Canada. Wrestling fans may also remember her hard-hitting 2022 match against Athena on AEW Dark, a performance many viewed as a breakout moment.
Threat’s exit also follows the departure of former tag partner Dani Luna earlier this year, making it another chapter in TNA’s recent roster changes. For now, her next destination remains under wraps, but her departure leaves another vacancy in the Knockouts division.
