Elijah Holyfield, the son of boxing legend Evander Holyfield, is set to join AAA after nearly two years in the WWE developmental system.

On the August 9 episode of WWE LFG, Senior Vice President of Talent Development and Creative Shawn Michaels met with Elijah Holyfield. He praised the 28-year-old for always giving his best. HBK then informed him that, after spending a long time in the developmental system, he is getting an opportunity in AAA. Holyfield will work with his old LFG mentor, The Undertaker, who’s the Head of Creative in AAA.

The WWE star will work with The Undertaker in AAA

“Look, Elijah, I think coming in the door, you were a very valued prospect to us. I’m sure maybe from your perspective it’s been a while. You’ve had some setbacks with the injury and stuff like that, but an opportunity has arose for us to get you into the game. You are going to have the opportunity to go down to AAA and show the world what Elijah Holyfield truly is,” Shawn Michaels told the WWE star.

“You will be meeting up with your old trainer, The Undertaker. The possibilities down there are going to be unlimited for you. Congratulations and thank you very much for, again, always giving us your best,” the WWE Hall of Famer said.

Before signing with WWE, Elijah Holyfield played college football as a running back for the Georgia Bulldogs. He then spent four seasons on the practice squads of the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL before a knee injury shifted his career path. It will be interesting to see what he does next in AAA.
