Tony Khan Shares Update on Top AEW Star’s Status
AEW President Tony Khan has shared an update on Adam Cole’s status, addressing his health, current role, and future.
Adam Cole has been out of action since July due to concussion-related issues. This led to Cole vacating the TNT Championship at AEW All In: Texas, ending his 97-day title reign and stepping away to focus on his health.
Although Cole has not returned to the ring, AEW recently aired a video message from him during the World’s End kickoff show. In the message, Cole thanked fans for their support and shared his thoughts on the Continental Classic semifinal matches, reassuring viewers that he remains connected to AEW.
Following the AEW World’s End, Tony Khan addressed Cole’s status during the post-show media scrum. Khan made it clear that there is no pressure on Cole to return before he is ready and emphasized that his health remains the top priority.
He said, “Well, there’s certainly no pressure. I was just really happy to hear from Adam Cole and I thought the fans would be so happy to see him and obviously, Adam Cole’s been a great champion in AEW and it was important for Adam Cole to step away and prioritize his health and wellbeing.”
“We love him, and he’s a great star here and absolutely, like he said, when he spoke earlier, we want Adam Cole to be involved in AEW, and I don’t have any health updates other than to say you can see he’s doing well and he’s excited about AEW.”

Tony Khan said there is no major update on Adam Cole, but noted that he is doing well since he last appeared. “So with Adam Cole, no particular update other than to say you can see he’s doing well, and since we last heard from him when he had to vacate the TNT Championship at AEW All In Texas. It was a sad moment, it was a hard moment for a lot of the fans and for a lot of us so we were so happy to hear from him… He’s very good (at being an analyst). While Adam Cole’s in-ring return remains uncertain, Tony Khan’s comments made one thing clear: Cole is healthy, supported and still a vital part of AEW.
