AJ Styles made a surprise appearance at an independent show over the weekend, giving a new champion an even bigger reason to celebrate.

Southern Honor Wrestling, a Canton, Georgia-based independent wrestling promotion, hosted its latest event over the weekend. The event, Still Here 7, featured a match between NWA Star Lev and Southern Honor Wrestling Champion Joe Black. The match featured a Clockwork Orange House of Fun match stipulation, which was a signature match of Raven in NWA-TNA.

Lev won the match and the title, and was met with a “Phenomenal” surprise as AJ Styles presented him with the championship. The National Wrestling Alliance shared photos of the segment on social media:

A Phenomenal Surprise! ? NWA Star Lev, representing the Lost, defeated Southern Honor Wrestling Champion Joe Black in a grueling Clockwork Orange House of Fun match to become the new Southern Honor champion this past Friday night,” the NWA wrote on Instagram. “The celebration immediately hit phenomenal heights when @wwe Superstar & former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles surprised Lev in the ring and personally awarded him the championship! Lev continues to uphold the fighting spirit and storied legacy of the National Wrestling Alliance, proving NWA talent can conquer any arena and title!

Styles recently addressed his potential return to TNA, sharing that he’d love to wrestle there, but he doesn’t think WWE would allow it. However, despite his reservations, TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian said that he and Styles are waiting for “one guy” to sign off on it.
