The Latest On WWE SmackDown Being Three Hours, Potential Change
More has come to light about WWE SmackDown, which was moved to a three-hour show earlier this year after decades as a two-hour broadcast.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the extra hour would not be a permanent fixture, and it was expected that the show would go back to two hours in June 2025.
The internal listings at the USA Network still have SmackDown locked in for the extended runtime during early June.
It has been reported that several within WWE aren’t fans of the extra hour, believing it has led to weaker pacing, filler content, and creative fatigue.
While the third hour, in theory, allows for more talent to showcase their skills on TV, many in WWE believe this hasn’t been the case for the blue brand.
