Malakai Black, formerly known as Aleister Black, is set to make his return to the independent wrestling scene following his WWE release earlier this year.

PROGRESS Wrestling announced on X that Black will compete during its upcoming Odyssey Tour. The former WWE star is scheduled to appear in Edinburgh, Leeds, and Manchester.

The tour will mark Black’s first matches back on the independent scene since his WWE exit. PROGRESS announced his return while promoting him as one of the biggest names in professional wrestling.

Black has a history with PROGRESS Wrestling, where he competed as Tommy End. During his time with the promotion, he won the PROGRESS Tag Team Championship alongside Michael Dante and also emerged victorious in the Super Strong Style 16 Tournament.

Malakai Black’s WWE Release

The announcement comes several months after Black and his wife, Zelina Vega, were released by WWE in April. Black’s 90-day non-compete clause has since expired, allowing him to pursue opportunities outside the company.

Following the expiration of his contract, Black also gave fans a glimpse of a new look. The former Aleister Black appeared in a social media video with his head shaved, marking a noticeable change from his previous appearance.

Now, Black is set to return to the independent wrestling scene with PROGRESS, where he will look to begin the next chapter of his career.

The Odyssey Tour will see Black compete at Edinburgh Corn Exchange, O2 Academy Leeds and O2 Ritz Manchester. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and the PROGRESS Wrestling website.
