The report also revealed an important detail about Cena potentially wrestling outside WWE. According to the report, the claim within WWE is that Cena would not be able to wrestle elsewhere due to his contractual obligations.
Cena has continued to dismiss the possibility of returning to professional wrestling. He previously said bringing him back to the ring would be a huge financial risk. With Cena remaining under a multi-year WWE contract, his retirement from in-ring competition does not mean the end of his relationship with the company.
