WWE’s Drew McIntyre Does It Again With New WrestleMania Mid-Match Video
For the third year in a row, Drew McIntyre managed to go viral during WrestleMania. This time, he did it with a mid-match video during his brutal fight against Jacob Fatu.
This has now become a fun tradition for McIntyre. It first started at WrestleMania 40, when he grabbed a phone during his match against Seth Rollins. Since then, he has leaned into the idea to create viral moments.
At WrestleMania 41, he took it further by clicking a selfie during a Street Fight with Damian Priest, joking that he was “bored at work,” while Priest was down. That moment turned into a meme. Now at WrestleMania 42, he went even bigger by filming a full video.
Drew McIntyre continues his mid-match posting trend at WrestleMania 42
During his match with Jacob Fatu, the former WWE Champion took a phone from his brother and landed some shots with it while recording a video. He uploaded a four-second clip later with the caption, “I love this game.”
A few days later, McIntyre shared a longer “director’s cut” of that clip on social media. The extended version shows more of what happened. It starts with the Scotsman laughing before saying, “It’s that time of year,” referring to his now-regular WrestleMania stunt.
In the video, he can be seen attacking Fatu at ringside while holding his phone. He ends it with an ironic “Happy WrestleMania,” which sums up his madness. The longer clip runs 10 seconds more than the earlier one and includes extra action and commentary.
However, even though the moment was entertaining, the match didn’t go in McIntyre’s favor. His fight with Fatu was built on weeks of tension after Fatu cost him a title shot earlier in 2026.
The match got intense, with weapons like chairs, toolboxes, and wrenches being used. McIntyre had his moments, too. But in the end, Fatu picked up the win.
