Netflix Called Out For Editing Chant Out Of WWE RAW Broadcast
WWE fans are calling Netflix out for editing out the RAW crowd chants.
During Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi’s confrontation from last week’s episode of RAW, the crowd at Madison Square Garden erupted in “Holy Sh*t” chants. While the segment aired with the original chant during the live broadcast, fans are calling out Netflix and WWE after they noticed it was replaced with “This is awesome” chants in the replay.
While fans anticipated WWE programming to become more uncensored after RAW’s Netflix debut in January 2025, many expressed disappointment after nothing changed. The removal of the chant is the latest instance of Netflix editing content.
Netflix also did a similar thing earlier this year by editing out the Zebros reference during Roman Reigns and CM Punk’s promo segment on the RAW after WWE Royal Rumble 2026.
John Cena Apologizes For Being Against WWE: Unreal on Netflix
During his recent appearance on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, John Cena apologized for being against the Netflix docuseries WWE Unreal, revealing that he refused to give interviews for the first two seasons. He then confirmed his role in the third season.
“I just did a sit-down for WWE: Unreal season three. I led with, ‘I’m sorry,’” Cena explained. “Because those motherf*ckers tried to get me for season one and season two, and I’m like, ‘I’m not spoiling any stories and I’m going to be curt and short in my answers.’ [I told the producers] ‘You guys are from football, this is a business that’s way more nuanced. You don’t know what you’re doing. You’re taking a swing and the institutional knowledge that I have says we never do this.’ So you’re going against everything I believe in.
“I have to, because it works,” Cena admitted. “People want to see it. So I have to—if you want to fight it, don’t watch it.”
