MJF: Kobe Bryant’s 81 Points Was More Difficult Than Bam Abebayo’s 83
The only Bam MJF acknowledges is Margera.
NBA fans witnessed a “record-setting” performance this week, as the Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo scored 83 points in a game on Tuesday night. Adebayo’s 83 is the highest point total for an individual player in a game since Kobe Bryant scored 81 against the Toronto Raptors in 2006.
Many people acted like Adebayo set a new all-time record, but he’s still second to Wilt Chamberlain, who scored 100 points in a game back in 1962. Adebayo did set a Miami Heat team record, but his 83-point performance has resulted in heated debates over how he did it, if he should have done it, how it compares to Kobe, and conspiracies about the NBA being fixed.
Regardless of how you feel, Adebayo scored 83, and he doesn’t care if you’re mad about it.
During a recent interview with The Ringer Wrestling Show, host Benjamin Cruz pitched MJF on wearing an Adebayo jersey at AEW Revolution this weekend since it takes place in Los Angeles. MJF admitted he’s not much of a basketball fan. However, he did make the argument that Kobe’s 81 was a more difficult accomplishment, noting he didn’t shoot as many free throws.
MJF believes Mamba still reigns supreme
“I’m not the biggest basketball fan. I feel that the only sport that matter is professional wrestling. Every other sport is fixed and fake, so I’m not interested in fake bullsh*t sports personally,” MJF said.
“He scored what, 83 points? Now I would, again, not a basketball guy. How many times was Kobe fouled when he scored 81 points?”
Cruz noted that Adebayo set the record for most free throws, and Kobe “didn’t come close” to that.
“So wouldn’t you say Kobe scoring 81 points with way less free throws was a lot more difficult than Bam scoring 83? How many free throws was it? I’m not trying to be a conspiracy theorist here. All I’m saying is Mamba still reigns supreme when you look at it from a difficulty standpoint.”
As far as wearing a Bam Adebayo jersey in LA, MJF said the only Bam he acknowledges is Margera.
