A WWE legend is set to undergo surgery due to a serious illness.

Fred Ottman, who’s known for his time in WWE as Tugboat/Typhoon of the Natural Disasters and as The Shockmaster in WCW, took to Instagram to provide a health update. He revealed that he had been hospitalized for 30 days after his gall bladder exploded, releasing a bunch of toxins inside his body.

The WWE legend also revealed that he had a major infection and that the doctors told his wife that if he had waited another day, he could’ve died.

“Coming live from St. Petersburg, Florida, where I’ve been in the hospital for about 30 days. I’ve been off the map. I’ve been out of touch. I just wanted to let you all know that I didn’t fall off the planet…

“Unfortunately, my gall bladder exploded inside of me, and it released a bunch of poison into my body. So I’ve been on my back for 30 days. The doctors have been amazing. I had a major infection along with some of the stuff that I’ve been dealing with. As far as the infection goes, if I would’ve waited one more day, doctors told my wife that I probably wouldn’t be here with you and to be able to talk to you guys,” the WWE legend said.

The WWE Hall of Famer is set to undergo surgery at the end of this month

Speaking further, the WWE legend revealed that while he’s going home by Monday afternoon, he will have to undergo surgery around the 23rd of this month, which could keep him in the hospital longer.

“But I’m here. I’ve lost a lot of muscle mass. It’s been a brutal fight. I’ve been learning how to walk again, and it’s been a fight. Not out of the woods yet, but Monday afternoon, they’re gonna let me out of here and go home and start training there, and get bigger, stronger, and work on making my comeback… I’m getting better, but I was almost to the point where I was gonna have to go on dialysis. So far, so good, and they still have to go in at the end of the month, like the 23rd, and operate on me,” the WWE legend said.
