WWE reportedly prevented Liv Morgan from landing a role in the movie Queen of the Ring.

Liv Morgan wrapped up filming her role in Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo in May, which is set to release next year. Paradigm Talent Agency represented her for the role, but Morgan had another movie lined up before signing with them. According to Fightful (via Fightful Select), the former Women’s World Champion was considered for a part in the Mildred Burke biopic Queen of the Ring, but WWE stopped it from happening.

Fightful had reported in 2023 that both Liv Morgan and 14-time Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair were offered roles in Queen of the Ring. However, it was revealed earlier this year that WWE had pulled Flair from the project. AEW star Kamille replaced her in the role.

Fightful’s sources have confirmed that, along with Charlotte Flair, WWE had also prevented Liv Morgan from landing a role in the movie. However, they didn’t get any specific reason as to why WWE did that.

Queen Of The Ring Movie Team Accused WWE Of ‘Sabotaging Behavior’

Queen of the Ring director Ash Avildsen told Jim Cornette that WWE had pitched both Charlotte Flair and Liv Morgan for the film, but the company pulled Flair from the movie a few days before filming started. He said he couldn’t get a straight answer from WWE after they didn’t sign off on the paperwork. However, he heard from someone that Vince McMahon was mad that talent was missing WWE TV because they were on movie sets.

Following the film’s release, the Queen of the Ring crew accused WWE of sabotaging behavior. They claimed in a now-deleted tweet that the company was not supportive of the movie, calling it “The movie the WWE doesn’t want you to see.”

When another X/Twitter user doubted WWE had any issues with the movie, the official Queen of the Ring account replied by claiming the company tried to block them from running ads during RAW.

“You should ask them why they tried to block us from running TV ads during Raw (illegal), why they asked us to sponsor their events, we agreed to the financial deal then they pulled us out last minute..this is just a glimpse into the sabotaging behavior.. perhaps we will expand on the intel.”

After the ads ran as intended, the account claimed that the “full story” would be revealed soon.

“We said they tried to, they obviously didn’t succeed because we got the ads to run. We will reveal the full story soon. And then all will be understood.”
