WWE 2K Associate Lead Narrative Designer Andrea Listenberger didn’t get a chance to work directly with Bray Wyatt, but she still has fond memories of seeing what he brought to WWE.

Listenberger recently sat down with WrestleZone Senior Editor Matt Black to speak about Bray Wyatt’s inclusion in WWE 2K25. The addition included previously unreleased footage of Wyatt, who unfortunately passed away in 2023. The content was originally planned for WWE 2K22, but Wyatt’s shocking release in 2021 led to huge changes in the game.

Listenberger was working for both 2K and WWE as a member of the creative team at the time of Wyatt’s release. She didn’t get to work directly with him. However, she still has fond memories of Bray Wyatt, at least from a fan’s perspective.

“When I was in WWE, I worked mostly adjacent to him. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to work directly on his content. I think the biggest memories I have of him, I loved watching, honestly, mostly as a fan,” she explained. “Because the best memories I have were talking to the writer who worked a lot on the Firefly Funhouse match, leading up to that. Which, because of the pandemic, I was not able to be a part of. [I was] stuck up in Connecticut at the time, they were shooting it down at the Performance Center.”

The Bray Wyatt storyline content is one of many additions to extend the life of WWE 2K25. When asked if this will be the norm in future releases, Listenberger said she can’t speak to any degree of certainty, but it’s definitely a possibility.

“That’s an interesting question. I think at this point, kind of everything is on the table, in that we’re having fun with what we’re doing on The Island. And moving forward, I can’t really speak to what we’re doing in future cycles. Because everything’s a little bit up in the air, right? But, it’s been — I’ll say this, it’s been fun. We like it. Who knows? Anything’s possible,” she said.
