Bron Breakker Isn’t Focused on Having The Greatest Spear

Bron Breakker is focused on greatness, but not in the way you might be thinking.

Breakker spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard at WWE SummerSlam media day. There, the RAW star was asked how he first came up with the idea to use the spear as a signature maneuver. Breakker has made headlines for the vicious way he hits the move, including one on Carlito that fans are still talking about.

According to Breakker, he just did it one day, and it stuck.

“I just did it one day,” Breakker said. “A spear, essentially, is the same thing as a football tackle, it just depends on how hard you hit somebody. Yeah, I just did it. I just did it one day.”

Bron Breakker is putting his best foot forward

The spear is associated with many names in pro wrestling history like Goldberg, Roman Reigns and Edge, among others. Is Breakker trying to make the move his own now? 

“No, I’m not focused on having the greatest spear and all that. I’m focused on just being the best that I can be right now, and we’re going to see that on Saturday,” Breakker said. 

The stable is a trio of formidable wrestlers, with “The Oracle” Heyman as a fourth. It’s a unique lineup, what sets them apart the most? 

“Well, we have the greatest manager to ever live, number one. That has given us wisdom and guidance. And then I’m the new leader now, so I’m the greatest athlete that works here. No one’s even close to me. And then Bronson Reed has the most devastating finish in WWE, maybe in history. We are the greatest group of people who ever assembled in the history of this business.”

Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed were in tag team action on Saturday night, although they lost their match to Roman Reigns and Jey Uso. It remains to be seen what’s next for Reed and Breakker, who ended their Saturday night celebrating with the returning Seth Rollins in the ring.
