AEW Collision Results:
TNT Champion Dustin Rhodes is out first to kick off the show. The newly crowned champion gives a rousing and emotional speech about what it takes to persevere. He says that his motto throughout life has always been to “keep stepping.” When he’s knocked down, he keeps stepping, and it’s led him here.
For the first time, Rhodes can proudly say he is the face of TNT. He thanked the crowd and his parents, but the Don Callis Family interrupted any further celebrations. Callis is joined by Kyle Fletcher, who takes the mic from Don. Fletcher said Rhodes’ story is touching, but a “gigantic load of crap.”
Fletcher said this was supposed to be his celebration, but that Rhodes “weasled” his way into a title match. The star then said he will now not rest until he’s taken “everything” from Rhodes. As far as Fletcher is concerned, the TNT title still belongs to him. Rhodes said he still respects Fletcher, but Rhodes is no stranger to failure.
The reigning champ says all Fletcher does is complain, and pointed out how he managed to work three times as much as Fletcher did last weekend. He said he managed to “pull it off” when Fletcher couldn’t. Callis took to the mic to defuse the situation, praising Rhodes for his illustrious career. However, Callis said Rhodes is still chasing the high of winning a title, and asks him what will happen when Fletcher inevitably beats him for it.
Callis then said he will hold a place in The Don Callis Family for Rhodes when that happens. Because, Callis said, being in his family is better than being the “third wheel” in his own family. This set Rhodes off, and he pushed Callis, which led to a brawl between Fletcher and Rhodes, ending in Rhodes sending Fletcher over the ropes.
