Will Ospreay Vows He Won’t Let Online Criticism Affect Him
AEW star Will Ospreay won’t let what critics online have to say affect his in-ring performance or his perception of his in-ring abilities.
On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Ospreay was asked how he handles those who criticize his work online. He said,
“I think years ago, if you had asked me that question, I didn’t deal with it very well. But, and I think a lot of it just comes with growing up and just having this sense of just being like, you know what… years ago, like, I didn’t deal with it very well and I would bite back. And every now and again, you’re allowed to bite back. You’re allowed to like stand up for yourself.”
Nowadays, though, Ospreay says he has matured and realizes that pleasing everyone is difficult, and knows how talented he is. He said,
“If you don’t enjoy my style, I 100% respect it. Like whatever, that’s on you. But like I can see thousands of people all around me and they’re standing up and they’re singing, they’re cheering.”
“There are sections of the audience that are just like — there’s one guy that like just looks up and they’re just beaming for you. And I’m confident and I can just read the room and I know what I’m doing is good.”
Ospreay signed with AEW in 2023 after appearing for the company for years beforehand. He will compete at Double or Nothing 2025 this weekend.
