Dark Side Of The Ring Creator Stands By Controversial Episode

Dark Side of the Ring’s executive producer Evan Husney stands by the controversial episode about WWE’s Plane Ride from Hell from 2002.

The episode brought new light to the infamous plane ride, resulting in fans re-evaluating the actions on the infamous flight from the UK to the U.S.

Some of the episode focused on Ric Flair who is alleged to have forced an air stewardess to touch his genitals. WWE would later remove Flair from their intro.

Flair would later deny the claims made during the episode. Speaking to “WrestleBinge,” Husney stood by his show. He said,

“It was a pretty intense experience. I think that episode came out at a time where stories like that would cause an uproar on social media and backlash… Me, personally, I stand a hundred percent by the things that are in that episode, and what people said is what they said.”

Addressing the backlash following the episode, Husney said that his team never sets out to make someone look bad, but is telling what has been told to them.

The show has seen controversy of its own. Jim Ross has said he will no longer appear on Dark Side of the Ring due to alleged selective editing to give a false impression.
