No Foul Play Suspected in AEW Star PAC’s Passing, New Details Emerge — Report
New details have emerged following the death of AEW star PAC. Now, multiple reports state that authorities do not suspect foul play in his passing.
PAC, whose real name was Benjamin Satterley, was found dead in Des Plaines, Illinois, on Sunday, September 27. He was 40 years old.
According to the Daily Herald, Satterley was found at around 4 p.m. A passerby spotted his body in a rental car on the 2700 block of Mannheim Road. The passerby then called 911.
Satterley was reportedly alone when he was found. A Des Plaines spokesperson said there were no indications of foul play or trauma and that his death did not appear suspicious.
The Daily Herald reported that no further details were immediately available from the Des Plaines police or fire departments as the investigation continued. The address where Satterley was found is also located a short distance from O’Hare International Airport.
Additional details have since emerged about the circumstances surrounding the discovery of Satterley. TMZ, citing the New York Post, reported that first responders were told there was a “slumper” inside a car and could not initially confirm whether the 40-year-old was breathing.
A witness reportedly told the outlet that customers spotted PAC passed out inside the vehicle and called 911. Some customers allegedly searched the restaurant for medical equipment while waiting for paramedics to arrive.
PAC’s Official Cause Of Death Remains Pending
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office told TMZ that PAC’s cause and manner of death remain pending additional testing. According to the report, the testing could take several weeks.
AEW confirmed PAC’s death on September 28. The promotion did not announce a cause of death at the time.
PAC had been in action at AEW All Out just one day before his death. He faced Andrade El Idolo at the event, which took place at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
The news of PAC’s passing prompted an outpouring of tributes from across the wrestling industry, with his peers across promotions remembering the wrestler and reflecting on his impact on the company.
PAC was also part of the Death Riders alongside Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia, Gabe Kidd, and Marina Shafir. Shafir later spoke about PAC’s passing during a Warrior Wrestling event and became emotional while remembering her late teammate.
Shafir also urged fans to tell the people they love that they love them, noting that she had hugged and spoken with PAC just one day before his death at AEW All Out.
