AEW Backstage Reaction to Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed’s All In Debut Revealed — Report
Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed reportedly made a strong impression backstage following their AEW debut at All In: London.
Kofi and Creed made their surprise AEW debut as The New Level. The former WWE stars joined Swerve Strickland as the wild card team in the Trios Royale Roulette for the AEW World Trios Championship.
Kofi, Creed, and Strickland ultimately captured the AEW World Trios Championship after the former New Day members eliminated PAC and Claudio Castagnoli in the closing moments of the match.
According to PWInsider, Kofi and Creed were extremely open backstage at All In. The report noted that the former WWE stars did not carry themselves as though they were above anyone because of their lengthy tenures with the company.
PWInsider added that the two were open both creatively and in their interactions with everyone backstage. Kingston and Creed also reportedly went out of their way to introduce themselves and meet as many people as possible within AEW.
“They are everything you always heard about, plus more,” the report noted.
Another source reportedly felt that their arrival represented a major gain for AEW, noting that WWE’s loss was “absolutely AEW’s gain.”
Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed Left WWE Earlier This Year
The duo’s AEW arrival came months after their departures from WWE.
Kofi and Creed, the latter better known to WWE fans as Xavier Woods, had spent more than a decade as members of The New Day alongside Big E. The group became one of WWE’s most successful and recognizable factions, winning multiple tag team championships during their run.
Kofi and Creed’s WWE exits reportedly came after the company sought to restructure their deals. The two ultimately moved on from WWE and began the next chapter of their careers.
Following their big win in AEW, The New Level wasted little time making their presence felt in the tag team division.
After Cope and Christian Cage successfully defended the AEW World Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks at All In, Kingston and Creed joined the Motor City Machine Guns, FTR, and Matt and Nick Jackson in confronting the reigning champions.
