Nic Nemeth Reveals Why His Dad Skipped TNA Taping Despite Being Part of an Angle
Nic Nemeth has shared a humorous story about his father choosing slot machines over appearing on TNA television.
Speaking with A Wrestling Gal’s Ella Jay, the reigning TNA World Champion was asked whether he and his brother Ryan Nemeth had ever considered involving their mother in TNA storylines. Nemeth explained that he prefers to keep his parents out of the spotlight and off social media, though his father has made a few appearances at wrestling events over the years.
Nemeth then recalled flying his father to Las Vegas for a TNA taping, where he was scheduled to appear in a simple on-screen role supporting his sons from the crowd.
According to Nemeth, everything went as planned on the first night. However, when production asked his father to return for a second day of tapings, he had other priorities.
“The taping starts in like two hours. Are you on your way over here? He goes, ‘Nah, you know, I already did the one yesterday, and I’m kind of on a hot slot machine right now.'”

Nemeth said he couldn’t believe the response, reminding his father that TNA had flown him to Las Vegas specifically for the television appearance.
“I was like, ‘Are you effing kidding me right now? We flew you in so you could wave on this damn show.'”
His father remained committed to the slot machine and declined to return for the taping before he ultimately hung up the phone.
Nemeth joked that neither of his parents seems particularly interested in becoming wrestling personalities. He also noted that his father has had other memorable interactions in wrestling, including handing a beer bottle to be broken over Steph De Lander and Matt Cardona during a GCW event.
