Former WWE Star Jake Hager Reacts To Brutal Power Slap Knockout
Former WWE and AEW star Jake Hager (Jack Swagger) reacts to getting knocked out on Power Slap.
Jake Hager signed a multi-fight deal with UFC Power Slap in March 2026 and made a victorious debut on April 17 in Las Vegas during WWE WrestleMania 42 weekend. However, his recent match on July 10 didn’t go as he planned, as he got knocked out in the third round by former TNA wrestler Amanpreet Singh (Mahabali Shera).
After the match, Jake Hager appeared on Busted Open Radio and reacted to the loss and the online trolls.
“Not at all,” Hager answered when asked about whether he took offence to the online trolling. “I knew ahead of this, going into this, that it was knockout or get knocked out, and that getting knocked out was gonna generate just as much as getting a knockout. Now, of course, that’s not the result I wanted, but still, when you have a name like mine, and going into a sport like Power Slap, it is an advantage, and I will use it.” (H/T Fightful)
Jake Hager set for debut in new football-style wrestling league
The National Wrestling League, a UK-based promotion blending pro wrestling with football (soccer) league elements, officially announced that Jake Hager will represent the North East Outlaws team at the event on September 27, 2026.
Hager stayed away from a wrestling ring for a while after his release from AEW in 2024. However, he returned to the squared circle at a couple of World Wrestling Council events in June 2026, with one of the matches being against former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio. While he has already made a mark at Power Slap, it will be interesting to see how he fares in this soccer-style wrestling league.
