Britt Baker Does Ice Bucket Challenge Video In Support of AEW Partner Rebel
Britt Baker has taken the plunge and jumped into the ice bucket challenge in support of fellow All Elite Wrestling star Rebel.
In a recent video on social media, Baker shared a video of herself getting doused with ice water as part of the now-viral challenge in support of ALS awareness. In the video, she challenged a litany of other AEW stars, including Jericho, the Young Bucks, Adam Cole, Kris Statlander, Orange Cassidy, Thunder Rosa, and even Renee Paquette.
Rebel, real name Tanea Brooks, revealed that she had been diagnosed with ALS earlier this year. In a lengthy explanation, Brooks thanked fans for their prayers over the past two years as she underwent a “medical journey” to try to figure out what was wrong. In the end, Brooks revealed that doctors had diagnosed her with terminal ALS.
Brooks had been absent from the world of wrestling for over two years, and last year, she revealed that she had been undergoing various medical issues, including a lung cancer diagnosis. She also said she was struggling with some sort of then-un-diagnosed neurological issue that was impeding her ability to speak, walk, and use one of her hands.
ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that sees the loss of upper and lower motor neurons. The disease currently has no known cure.
