WWE Star Claims Credit for The John Cena Classic

WWE NXT star Lexis King recently reacted to John Cena’s newly announced John Cena Classic tournament claimed that he was the one behind the idea. Cena first revealed the concept during the WWE Backlash event this past weekend.
The John Cena Classic is expected to feature WWE main roster stars facing NXT talent, similar to the special crossover style seen during Saturday Night’s Main Event. Cena also explained that the winner of the John Cena Classic Championship will not simply be decided by booking, as WWE fans will vote for who they believe deserves the title the most.
Following the announcement, Cena shared that the project reflects his real personality and values. He said he is not afraid of failure and wants to use his platform after retirement to help WWE talent showcase themselves while creating something unique for fans. Now, Lexis King have said that he inspired the John Cena Classic.

Lexis King reacted on X, formerly known as Twitter, claiming that he deserves credit for the idea. King said he had several conversations with Cena at the WWE Performance Center over the past few years. He also shared The Rock “taking credit” meme along with the post and wrote, “I’ve had some great talks with John Cena at the PC over the past couple of years, he has given me some life-changing advice on several occasions…”
