Nick Khan Testimony Contradicts Vince McMahon’s Claims About WWE Sex Trafficking Case

Nick Khan’s testimony undermines Vince McMahon‘s previous statements about the WWE sex trafficking case.
According to a new report from Brandon Thurston of POST Wrestling, sworn testimony from Nick Khan states that the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) criminal investigation into Vince McMahon included possible violations of sex trafficking statutes. While McMahon previously characterized the federal investigation as a dispute over “minor accounting errors,” Khan’s deposition contradicts the former WWE Chairman’s statements.
In January 2025, Vince McMahon settled with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regarding the undisclosed agreements he executed on behalf of WWE while serving as the company’s CEO and Chairman. After being ordered to pay a $400,000 penalty and repay WWE $1.3 million, McMahon issued the following statement:
“Today ends nearly three years of investigation by different governmental agencies. There has been a great deal of speculation about what exactly the government was investigating and what the outcome would be. As today’s resolution shows, much of that speculation was misguided and misleading.”
Vince McMahon added: “In the end, there was never anything more to this than minor accounting errors with regard to some personal payments that I made several years ago while I was CEO of WWE. I’m thrilled that I can now put all this behind me.”
However, Nick Khan’s testimony in December 2025, as part of the lawsuit against former WWE board members over the company’s merger with Endeavor, undermines McMahon’s statement.
What Nick Khan mentioned in his testimony
An attorney for the shareholder plaintiffs asked him when he became aware that the DOJ was investigating issues beyond accounting. Under oath, Nick Khan said, “When the search warrants for the devices were served upon Vince, Brad Blum, and Vince’s personal assistant and when those warrants were sent from Vince’s lawyers to WWE’s lawyers, and they were read to me and it included sex trafficking is when I was aware of it.”
Furthermore, Nick Khan noted in his deposition that he was aware sex trafficking was among the statutes the government was examining.
“I certainly did learn that that was the case,” Khan said, according to the transcript.
He also confirmed that when DOJ prosecutors asked him specifically about “sex crimes” during his own government interview.
The report notes, “In the deposition related to the TKO merger, the plaintiff attorney, Edward Timlin, asked Khan whether a grand jury subpoena — received by WWE sometime after Sept. 2, 2022, before the later warrants — also referenced sex trafficking. Khan initially said he didn’t recall, but after Timlin described the subpoena as containing sex trafficking statutes, Nick Khan said: ‘“In hearing you say it, I do recall when I read the grand jury subpoena that it said something about trafficking in there.’”
Nick Khan’s testimony suggests McMahon’s legal team was aware of the allegations
The report also notes that, “Nick Khan testified that search warrants, which indicated sex trafficking was under consideration, were ‘sent from Vince’s lawyers to WWE’s lawyers.'” It suggests that McMahon’s legal team from the white-shoe law firm Kirkland & Ellis was fully aware of the subject matter of the DOJ inquiry even before McMahon made his public claims about “accounting errors.”

These revelations provide significant context to the ongoing civil lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant. Grant’s lawsuit alleges instances of sexual assault and trafficking by McMahon.
The case is still ongoing, and she recently posted to Instagram claiming that the FBI previously notified her that she was a “possible victim of a crime.” She also recently released a 40-page declaration with new allegations as formal opposition to McMahon’s attempts to move the case into private arbitration.
