Lizzy Rain Reveals the Legendary Rock Song That Inspired Her WWE NXT Entrance Theme
Lizzy Rain has revealed the inspiration behind her WWE NXT entrance theme.
The April 28 episode of NXT featured several debuts, including Lizzy Rain, who was previously known as Rayne Leverkusen.
Rain’s WWE presentation has heavily leaned into a heavy metal aesthetic, and she recently explained how her entrance music came together.
Speaking on Ropes N’ Riffs, Lizzy Rain revealed that she immediately connected with the song because it reminded her of “Hot for Teacher” by Van Halen.
“Being a part of the WWE, we have all our own music in house. So I was sent loads of different songs. I went through them all and as soon as I heard the guitar riff, I said, ‘This sounds like it’s got a vibe of Hot for Teacher.’ And I love that song and I feel like it’s really relatable and lots of people like that song.
“And then I thought over this guitar riff, one of the creative team said, ‘Why don’t we do like a rock thing over the top of it live? You can say something before you come out.’ I thought, ‘That’s it. That’s gotta be it.’ I’m really happy of my theme song in the WWE. I love it. I love that I get to have a live little promo before I come out. I think it’s really cool and social media love it too, which is all the more better.” [H/T WrestlePurists]
Lizzy Rain picked up a victory against Nikkita Lyons in her NXT in-ring debut. She is now set to team with Tatum Paxley against Lyons and ZARIA next Tuesday on NXT.
