WWE Fans Send Heartfelt Farewell Messages To John Cena
Fans prepare to bid farewell to John Cena.
In just over 48 hours, the wrestling world will say goodbye to John Cena as an in-ring competitor. Before the 17-time world champion officially sets off into the sunset, though, many fans are sending him their farewell messages, which WWE has compiled into a special YouTube video.
With WWE making stops in Philadelphia, Perth, Paris, Boston, New York City, and many other cities this year, fans were given a microphone to deliver their warm, and sometimes, emotional regards to Cena. All of them concluded with gestures of gratitude.
“John Cena, I have watched you since I was five-years-old, and I’m 26 now. You are really the greatest to ever do it, and I cannot believe that this is finally the end,” said one woman in Philadelphia. “Thank you for being the GOAT. Thank you for making us never give up.”
“I’m from South Korea. Thank you, Cena,’ said another. “I appreciate your passion and love for all of the humankind. Thank you, Cena.”
For one fan in Perth, Australia, Cena is considered the most important human in their life. “Such a perfect representation of what a good human being is,” he said. “I appreciate you so much. I love you so much.”
“Cena, I love you so much. I came all the way from Singapore to see you,” added another fan in Perth, “and thank you so much for being a huge, huge part of my childhood. Thank you, thank you. Appreciate you.”

For wrestling interviewer and content creator MuscleManMalcolm, Cena emerged as a father-like figure. “By growing up without a father, seeing you do your thing in the ring, never give up, it meant the world to me,” he said.
Elsewhere in Philadelphia, one fan found Cena’s slogan of “never give up” to be especially moving in times of personal adversity. “What I learned from John Cena over the years was to never give up, to always chase my dreams, and even through all the adversity, through the injuries, through the sacrifice, through everything he’s been through, he is been such an inspiration to me,” said the man. “He’s inspired me my entire life. And all I can say is God bless you and thank you for everything you’ve done for me, for my family.”
