CM Punk: I’m A Big Marshmallow, Ask My Wife
On WWE television, CM Punk may seem intimidating, and when approached by certain foes, angry. Outside of it, though, he’s more like a S’more.
While appearing on WGN9 News to promote the 2026 Elimination Chamber premium live event in Chicago, the hosts took note of Punk’s endearing demeanor, which Punk confirmed as his typical presentation.
“I am warm and friendly. I’m a big marshmallow, ask my wife,” he said, referring to former Divas Champion AJ Lee.
Punk’s positivity continued when asked about his current run in WWE, which began at Survivor Series 2023 in Chicago.
“It’s tremendous,” he said. “I’m literally having the time of my life and I think it resonates. I think you can see it. This is an unexpected treat. Obviously, I’m older and more mature, and I feel like I get it now. I feel like the weight of this, it isn’t so heavy, but I have more of an understanding now. Like, yeah, this is this is part of the job. I know someday this is all going to be over, so I’m really just enjoying it.
“You saw the one guy hugging me [in my return],” he continued. “It’s like the warm embrace of Chicago as a whole. I can still feel it, I can still feel it today. I love being here, I love performing. Was just at Madison Square Garden on Monday night and the fans at Madison Square Garden are very important and integral to what we do. But to me, obviously, the fans in Chicago, best in the world.”
In September 2025, AJ Lee made her own return to side with “The Second City Saint” in his feud against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. Punk and Lee later defeated Rollins and Lynch in a mixed tag match at WWE Wrestlepalooza. Now, Punk reigns as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, while Lee cost Lynch the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on WWE Raw this week.
