A local Mexican Lucha Libre promoter canceled an upcoming event due to reported security issues in the region.

According to a post from Promotora Mr. Fuego, a November 15 event in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, has been canceled due to security reasons. It was noted that the decision was a joint resolution made by the directors of both WWE and AAA. The decision was made due to ongoing violence in the region, which resulted in the U.S. Department of State placing Sinaloa on a level 4, or “do not travel,” alert.

The full announcement (translated) reads:

“To all Lucha Libre fans, we hereby inform you that the event scheduled for November 15th in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, has been canceled by a joint decision of the directors of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and WWE, due to security reasons.

The Department of the United States currently maintains the state of Sinaloa on red alert (level 4: “do not travel”) due to the ongoing violence in the region. We deeply appreciate your support, passion, and understanding. We will soon return with a new card, hoping that peace and tranquility will return to Sinaloa. Ticket refunds will be issued starting October 20th, through official channels.”

WWE acquired the legendary Lucha Libre promotion in April 2025. The Sinaloa event had advertised names such as Mr. Iguana, Octagon Jr. and Niño Hamburguesa, who have all competed for WWE and AAA under the Worlds Collide banner this year.
