Andrade Reacts To Rumor He Had Issues With The Mexican Cartel
Andrade’s status has been the source of speculation… including this rumor that he debunked.
The October 1 episode of AEW Dynamite saw Andrade return to the company, but he hasn’t been seen since then.
Of course, we now know that he has been absent from AEW TV due to issues with WWE enforcing a non-compete clause on his contract. However, before learning the truth, a user on Twitter named @vagoni256 wildly speculated on his absence from AEW and suggested it was related to being mixed up with the Mexican cartel, or a “nationwide crime scheme.”
According to a subsequent report from PWInsider.com, it was believed in WWE that Andrade was cut due to Wellness Policy violations. In turn, that would mean he was free to begin working elsewhere. However, once Andrade showed up in AEW and at events in Mexico, WWE contacted him to clarify the terms of his release.
The report noted that even though Andrade isn’t getting the traditional 90 days after his release (and isn’t getting paid), he is still “subject to the 90-day period where he cannot perform elsewhere.”
Andrade has largely been quiet while everything plays out, but still took some time to react to the ludicrous rumor about his alleged cartel business.
“What?? Tranquilo amigo!!,” Andrade wrote on Twitter/X. “Will everyone please stop making things up?!”
In addition to shooting down the rumor, Andrade also joked that he might start an OnlyFans page while he waits for his non-compete to expire.
