Triple H Confirms When Cody Rhodes Will Return To WWE

Cody Rhodes won’t be away from WWE much longer.

Rhodes, the Undisputed WWE Champion, has been absent from WWE programming since Drew McIntyre attacked him on the August 8 episode of SmackDown. During that time, Rhodes was officially confirmed as a member of the Street Fighter movie cast. He also announced the birth of a new daughter.

Many fans have speculated about when he will return to WWE. Triple H finally gave them the answer they’ve been waiting for. During an appearance on Tuesday’s episode of the Pat McAfee Show, Triple H said that Rhodes will be back for WWE WrestlePalooza.

“I will give you a spoiler right now, Cody will be back in Indianapolis [for WrestlePalooza],” Triple H said.

What will Cody Rhodes’ role at WrestlePalooza be?

Triple H did not give any more details pertaining to Cody’s appearance at the event, which is the first WWE premium live event that will air on ESPN.

In recent weeks, it has been widely reported that Rhodes versus Drew McIntyre is one of the two co-main event matches planned for the show on September 20. McIntyre was a recent guest on the Huge Pop podcast with Donnie Dasilva and former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas. There, he said he chose to attack Cody Rhodes because he wants to beat Rhodes for the WWE Title.

“Back on SmackDown, where it’s a WWE Championship… The title I helped during the pandemic the entire time, the title I won… The guy that’s got…. It’s the one I want to beat for Cody Rhodes. 20-year you know, relationship with him and I, former tag team champions as kids… Former chosen ones, I guess… For the future, John chosen ones had to choose ourselves. But different destinations we’re at right now, where I open my eyes to the truth about so many things that he’s so desperate to be like, so desperate for attention,” McIntyre said.

He added, “I wonder if they want to take the title off him… And teach him the hard way the reality of the wrestling world, the reality of the world. Because he’s still in the mindset I was in 2020. So I’m excited possibly getting my hands on him.”

Another major match was confirmed for WrestlePalooza on this week’s episode of WWE RAW, bringing the announced total of matches to four so far.
