Report: WWE Has The Option To Buy TNA & Decline Others From Buying It

More details continue to emerge regarding the current business relationship between WWE and TNA Wrestling.
On Thursday, we learned a lot more about what the ongoing relationship between WWE and TNA entails. But even more news has come to light that seemingly showcases how one-sided this partnership really is.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has an option to buy TNA for a specific time period. They also have the right of first refusal if TNA finds another buyer that isn’t them. The specifics of how long this time period goes for are currently unknown.
Meltzer was told through a WWE source that this deal is very similar to what the company previously had with multiple independent wrestling companies in the United Kingdom when NXT UK was a thing.
As far as a potential buyer for TNA, Meltzer made it clear that anyone looking to do so would need to be friendly with WWE.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
