Report: Update On Alberto Del Rio’s WWE Status
With Alberto Del Rio seemingly gone from AAA, what does that mean for his status with WWE?
The former WWE Champion lost a match to El Mesias in AAA last week, which carried a stipulation that Del Rio must leave the company if he lost. While it could be a storyline, it doesn’t appear to be one at this time.
In an update from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), WWE sources have claimed there are no plans for Del Rio in the company. Furthermore, it’s believed that his departure from AAA is legitimate and not a storyline.
Del Rio was the AAA Mega Champion when WWE acquired the company. It didn’t take long for WWE to take the title off Del Rio and put it on El Hijo del Vikingo. It certainly appears there are no plans for the two sides to work together again anytime soon.
